A REQUIRED COSMIC APARTHEID

There is again no place for two intelligent species on a single planet. Modern man could not have lived long with Cro-Magnon and others of his kind.

A rational analysis leads us immediately to the conclusion that our cosmic descendants should have no real consciousness of our existence and of the help we are giving them all along. Any knowledge of that kind would include them in our world, thus exposing them to the same risks as ourselves. Would not Europe be also concerned if America was threatened by Extraterrestrials?

Only unconscious primates free in their own space could create a world of their own. The "cosmic umbilical cord" of the new species should be cut.

Any other form of colonization than cosmic apartheid would be doomed to failure.

Question - Terraforming one or several planets for our cosmic descendants involve considerable launch facilities. Would such a space exodus be possible at all?

Reply : Prior to settling the primates on a terraformed planet, a biosphere rich in natural resources as well as in faun and flora would be required. This implies indeed a large number of space launches extending on several hundreds of years. The space launchers used so far have almost reached their limits and new launch systems should have been developed as the time of exodus has come.

Studies of new launch systems are being carried out and serious prospects already exist ( space lifting systems, nuclear propulsion, etc.). Progress could be rapidly expected if adequate budgets are used to it.

Planetary ecology, scientific research and study of near and far space would of course be at the heart of our Cosmic Project. Almost all world military budgets actually used in pure loss and to our self-destruction would be consacrated to it.

During the long terraforming of one or several planets, our species would probably live a long and complex evolution toward an artificial nature. The very nature of the human being would have changed when the time of settling has come.

The spaceships necessary to this cosmic transfer would of course be larger and more massive than presently. But with expected progress in computer sciences and medecine (insemination, clonage, etc.), our spaceships could be more reduced than imagined. They could have reasonable dimensions.

It is proposed to terraform Mars or other solar planets in view of an hominization of primates passing through successive evolution steps comparable to mankind’s from Prehistoric Times to modern man. As we could undertake such a project if we decide to do so, man’s consciousness may well be the result of such  an evolution led by a previous stellar civilization.

Question : It seems nevertheless difficult to let our cosmic children in their nurseries wihout any contact with them.  How could we do it ?

Reply : Our cosmic descendants should not have any clear consciousness of our existence. But this would not prevent a kind of masked attendance.

With such primitive beings as monkeys, we could resort to all sorts of subterfuges, such as disguise, anaesthesia, etc. The human being should never present himself in his true nature since it would be harmful to the evolution of the primate.
